A New Grumpy’s Restaurant Coming to Fleming Island
According to the Times-Union, Grumpy’s Restaurant is renovating the former Dick’s Wings & Grill space at 1803 East West Parkway on Fleming Island. The new restaurant will feature approximately 130 seats and is planned to open in the late second quarter of the year, pending construction progress.
The Fleming Island location will offer the same made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch favorites Grumpy’s is known for, along with several family-friendly additions, including:
• A private dining room
• A kids’ game area
• A full-service bar
• Daily hours from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The focus remains simple and familiar. The same great Grumpy’s experience guests know and love.
Locally Owned and Operated by the Hoard Family
The Fleming Island Grumpy’s Restaurant will be owned and operated by the Hoard family, longtime Grumpy’s franchise partners and owners of the Middleburg, Florida location.
The Hoard family has been part of the Grumpy’s story since opening the brand’s first franchise restaurant in Middleburg in October 2020. Following a devastating overnight fire in January 2022, the family worked alongside Grumpy’s leadership and the surrounding community to rebuild and reopen in January 2023.
Their resilience, leadership, and commitment to the brand continue to define what locally owned Grumpy’s restaurants represent.
Continued Growth Rooted in Community
Grumpy’s Restaurant began in Orange Park and has since expanded to locations in Middleburg, Neptune Beach, Saint Johns, and Wildlight. Each restaurant is locally owned and operated, while remaining committed to consistent food quality, hospitality standards, and community involvement.
The Fleming Island opening reflects Grumpy’s measured, intentional growth strategy focused on strong franchise partnerships and neighborhoods that align with the brand’s values.
